FAQs

Do I need to have an engineering background, or hold a P.Eng.?
Cheme does not require you to have an engineering background or a P.Eng. to join us. There are some roles and tasks that need to be completed by a professional engineer, but there are many opportunities available that do not require either. We hire engineers, scientists, project managers, technicians and technologists. If you know you are the kind of talent we are looking for, let us know!
I don’t have any work experience in the industries listed on your website. Can I still apply?
Yes! If you are the kind of talent we’re looking for, and you have the drive and curiosity to learn, let us know. We have an extensive training program and can provide you with on-the-job training and situations where you will learn by doing.
What happens after I submit my online application and resume?
If we think you are a good fit for Cheme, we will contact you for more information and to schedule an interview. Unfortunately, we can’t respond to each candidate who send us an application. If you have not heard back from us within 30 days of submitting your application, there were other candidates we thought would be a better fit for us at that time. If you have not been selected, we encourage you to apply again in the future.
What if there is no position posted on your website? Can I still apply?
Yes! Cheme is always looking for outstanding talent and we want to build exceptional teams. This means we will always look to hire talented people rather than simply looking to fill positions.
Do you hire Co-Op students?
Yes! We hire co-op students each semester to work with our team; this special arrangement could be an 8, 12 or 16-month position. We want you to gain experience in engineering, so we will involve you in the work of our active projects! We conduct interviews for co-op staff through local universities. Look for our job postings through your university co-op program.
