Large Scale HTST Automation

Our client approached us to assist in the automation of skid that was manufactured a few months prior during an SOS project where the skid designers had gone out of business.

Cheme provided the automation design for a brand new, large scale HTST designed by a firm that had gone out of business. The HTST is capable of producing 1ML of pasteurized cheese milk for processing by a downstream cheese plant. The automation included the integration of upstream milk silos, ingredient vessels, CIP system and downstream cheese vats. Automating the system required a deep understanding for all components of the equipment. This project showcased Cheme’s versatility in delivering complex automation solutions within a challenging context.

Cheme was able to:

  • Highlight parts weak areas within the design that required improvement for correct operation
  • Integration of upstream milk silos, ingredient vessels, CIP system and downstream cheese vats by coordinating with the system owners
  • Facilitate startup and provide production support during the critical first few weeks of processing
  • Provide a detailed functional specification documentation package with an easy to understand structure
