Melissa is a licensed Professional Engineer and senior leader with a diverse background in finance, engineering, and project management, bringing more than 15 years of experience at Cheme. She blends technical expertise with strategic financial leadership to support organizational growth, operational performance, and long term value creation.
With nearly two decades of experience in life sciences sector, Melissa has managed capital projects of various scales – including programs up to $250 million – and led multi-disciplinary teams through design, construction, and commissioning.
Her project portfolio includes major pharmaceutical facility expansions, brownfield and greenfield construction, feasibility studies, and continuous improvement initiatives. Melissa is known for her strengths in project performance measurement, risk based decision making, contract administration, and delivering solutions that balance innovation, compliance, and operational reliability.
In her leadership role at Cheme, Melissa is committed to developing strong teams, advancing organizational capabilities, and fostering a culture of mentorship and excellence. She is passionate about empowering people, building resilient systems, and helping clients achieve their project and business objectives with confidence.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and is a licensed Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
